MLB announced Thursday that owners, players and umpires have approved the new system. Each manager will be allowed to challenge at least one call per game. If he's right, he gets another challenge. After the seventh inning, a crew chief can request a review on his own if the manager has used his challenges. The so-called "neighborhood play" at second base on double plays cannot be challenged. Many had safety concerns for middle infielders being wiped out by hard-charging runners if the phantom force was subject to review....

Starting pitcher Tyler Anderson is the latest addition to the roster. The club signed the former Los Angeles Dodger to a three-year, $39 million offer. The move adds depth and experience to an already talented starting rotation. MLB fans are now paying close attention to the Angels roster which is taking shape nicely. During the topsy-turvy 2022 season, the club finished with an unispiring 73-89 record. The team did, however, rank in the top nine in the MLB in both ERA and opponents’ batting average....

The main motivation for doing that is to reduce travel and lodging costs while clubs continue to go without revenue, the executives told Nightengale, but it also could hasten the season’s opening as teams would not need to “come north” from spring training to begin play....

With the release date creeping closer and closer as the days go by, there are a number of features that fans have wanted for a long time that would elevate MLB The Show 21 above its predecessors. The report says the two teams just started speaking and have yet to gain momentum, but this could be a move to watch out for. As of right now, the Mets are set to start Curtis Granderson in center field next season, a position he has not played full time since 2012....

Philadelphia has “investigated the possibility of trading for” Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke, according to a report from NBC Sports Philadelphia. The 35-year-old right-hander holds a 10-4 record with a 2.95 ERA in 20 starts so far this season. He has struck out 114 and walked just 16 in 128 innings pitched. Greinke, a six-time All-Star, signed a massive six-year, $206.5 million deal with the Diamondbacks in December 2015. He has also pitched for the Royals, Brewers, Angels and Dodgers over his 16-year career....
